Holiday Activities at Scropton
This summer we’ve got a range of activities, learning and fun to enjoy with our ponies…
Tues 28th July, Weds 12th August, Weds 26th August and Thurs 3rd September
Each Summer Pony Fun Day will be a mix of activities. There’ll be chance to learn more about ponies & looking after them, fun horse & yard themed activities plus a special pony fun riding session.
Being on the yard for longer gives you chance to learn so much more, get to know our ponies better and make new friends.
Each date will focus on different activities so you can come to more than one and do something different each time!

Monday 3rd August and Monday 17th August
Each Summer Pony Pals session will be a mix of horse activities, learning & fun. The whole session will be ground based; no riding but there’ll be the chance to try your hand at horse agility.
Being on the yard for a longer session like this will give you chance to get more familiar around horses and get to know them better. You’ll get to learn more about horse care & behaviour, and then work as a team with one of our horses to complete an in hand agility course.
This is a great way to find out more about horses before starting riding, or just a lovely way to spend a day in the company of horses.

Wednesday 29th July and Tuesday 1st September
Summer’s the best time for some water fun so come and enjoy it with our ponies! Activities will include everything from pony baths to water games, with time spent both on the yard and riding. We only do these sessions in the summer so don’t miss out!

Come dressed for outdoor activities & bring a packed lunch. You might also want to bring a change of clothes!
Tuesday 4th August and Thursday 27th August
Love the idea of jumping with a pony? - then this session is for you!
🐴 Team up with a pony and prepare for jumping
🐴 Take part in show jumping related pony & yard activities
🐴 Join in a jumping themed pony fun riding session
No previous jumping experience is needed - activities will start with ground poles which everyone can try & build up to jumps

Thursday 13th August and Wednesday 19th August
Games are a great way to enjoy being with ponies. Join this session and you’ll have the chance for some competitive fun in the saddle. There’ll be all kinds of races and games, suitable for all abilities. The ponies love these sessions too so there’ll be a lot of fun.
You’ll get to help prepare the ponies for riding, work as a team with other riders and join in the games. There’ll also be some hobby horse games to join in as well.

Monday 3rd August and Monday 17th August
Our summer picnic rides are a great opportunity to do something really different. You’ll prepare lunch for your pony, then saddle up for a ride around the centre and paddocks, finishing up in one of the paddocks to enjoy a picnic lunch alongside the ponies. Our picnic rides are really popular so book soon to secure your place.
£45 per participant per session, picnic lunch included.

Each week we’ll have opportunities for you to book some extra lessons; group or 1:1
Maybe you just want some more time in the saddle, or you have some partiucular skill you’d like to work on.
Riders will be matched by ability for group lessons.
